The information in black font below is a short device configuration details with additional information. You will use Google Nexus One android device provided by WFP for data collection. All the devices given to you are already configured for use in the field. But in the event that you want to use one or two of your own devices to support data collection, the information below is very important to read.

Using ENVAC lnstruments
Though these instruments are compatible with all ODK ecosystem and related tools, for the purpose of uniformity in the display of these instruments on mobile devices , we are limited to the use of traditional Open Data Kit.
Collect configuration
Run the Open Data Kit Collect app on the device. If you do not have ODK on your  device, download and install one from google playstore. From the main Collect menu, click your device's menu button, then click General Settings. From there, click Configure platform setting. Change the URL to http://envacsurvey2017.surveycto.com
Also enter a username ( wfp-envac-survey) password (envac1128) with which to login. From this point, the Open Data Kit Collect app is ready to go.
Mobile data collection: collecting data
Back on the main Open Data Kit Collect menu, you can press Get Blank Form to download copies of blank forms which are the group instrument (ENVAC Farmer Based Organization (FBOs)/Nucleus Farmer/Aggregators Baseline Survey)  and

the household instrument onto (ENVAC
Farmer Livelihood and Agricultural Production Baseline Survey) the device, then Fill Blank Form to fill out forms.
When you're filling out a form, you can click your device's back button to exit the form, use menu options to jump around, etc.
Once a form is fully filled out, you can check off Mark form as finalized before saving it. Finally, you can press Send Finalized Form to send one or more finalized forms to the server.

To change ODK Collect preferences, press your device's dedicated Menu button when you are in the ODK Collect start screen. On Android 3.x and 4.x devices without a dedicated Menu button, the Menu button functions are accessed through the narrow vertical glyph of three-small-squares displayed in the top right of the menu bar.

Troubleshooting
If you are having trouble contacting the server – either to download blank forms or to upload finalized forms – double-check your settings. From the main ODK Collect menu, press your device's menu button, then press General Settings. Verify that your server name, username, and password are all correct. If they are, use your device's Internet browser to confirm that your Internet connection is working well.

If your form takes a long time to load, than before, please save changes to your form, close Collect App and restart your device. Bear in mind that Collect will typically take much less time to re-load a form after it has been loaded once.

If your device is acting funny, you should first try restarting it to see if that fixes the problem. (Very occasionally, Android devices just need to be restarted.)

Insufficient memory. If your form is long and Collect crashes while loading the form or intermittently while you are filling it out, you may be bumping up against your device's memory limits. In order to confirm that this is the problem, try testing the form on a more powerful device that has more memory. To solve this problem, please contact the form programer.

When you fill out a survey form with Collect, it saves your data as you go along. If you run out of battery or Collect crashes in the middle of a survey, don't worry: you won't lose any data. In the event of an abnormal termination, Collect offers to resume where it left off the next time you select the same form to fill out (or revise); if for any reason Collect does not auto-resume, you can go to the main Collect menu, press your device's menu button, and select Resume Crashed Form.

If trouble emerge and you trying solving it and it still persist whilst you're on the field, please contact the form programer on 0507199533.
